Komatsu, which first announced its plans to acquire German manufacturer GHH Group in December 2022, confirmed on July 1 it has completed the takeover transaction.
The global OEM said GHH’s wide range of equipment, focused on loaders (LHDs) and articulated dump trucks, will enhance its growing underground mining product offerings, which also includes aftermarket parts and service support.
By adding GHH’s factories and rebuild facilities in key markets in Europe, Southern Africa, India and Chile, the company will work to strengthen production and service capabilities for customers.
“The talented GHH staff are now part of Komatsu and our new combined team will work together to expand offerings and increase customer access to products in new territories,” said Peter Salditt, president, Komatsu Mining Business Division. “We are excited to start collaborating to add value to our customers’ operations.”
Founded in the 1960s and currently part of the Schmidt Kranz Group, GHH offered a wide range of equipment for mid-seam mass mining, narrow vein and low-profile market segments.
